The Statue of Liberty, one of UNESCO’s World Heritage sites, is considered a symbol for the end of poverty and repression and the hope for a better life in a new world. In all parts of the world we today experience the reverse of what the Statue of Liberty stands for, namely disappearing values such as freedom, honour, dignity, honesty, credibility, maturity and respect. It has become a memorial and reflects present day world politics.
